Dave Portnoy did not hold back his comments about Angel Reese following her second loss to Caitlin Clark in the WNBA.

On Sunday, Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered a 91-83 defeat to the Indiana Fever, led by Clark’s impressive performance of 23 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. This loss was a rematch of their June 1 game, which Indiana also won 71-70.

Despite Reese’s double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, her game was marred by a flagrant 1 foul after hitting Clark in the head during a third-quarter drive to the basket. Reese’s postgame remarks further fueled the controversy as she accused officials of favoritism, claiming they had “special whistles.”

Following critical comments from Jason Whitlock, who called Reese delusional, and Skip Bayless, who suggested she was jealous of Clark, Barstool Sports’ chief Dave Portnoy added his own harsh critique.

“Caitlin Clark takes the high road, and all Angel Reese does after the game is take shots at her,” Portnoy stated.

Dave Portnoy claimed that Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has 'main character syndrome'

Dave Portnoy claimed that Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has ‘main character syndrome’

“That’s a flagrant foul, so shut up, Angel Reese,” Portnoy exclaimed. “You can’t have it both ways. All she does is complain and whine. She has main character syndrome. You aren’t Caitlin, and you’ll never be Caitlin. So shut the f*** up and own it.”

Instead of accepting the loss and taking responsibility for hitting her rival in the head, Reese used her postgame press conference to critique the officiating. She claimed her team was “playing hard” as they targeted Clark again following their controversial June 1 meeting.

“I think we were playing really hard,” Reese said. “We went up strong many times and didn’t get a lot of calls.”

“After reviewing the film, I saw many calls that weren’t made,” she continued. “I guess some people get special treatment.”

Amid heavy criticism of Reese for her comments, Portnoy suggested he would “respect it” if she admitted to intentionally fouling the much smaller rookie sensation.

“Say: ‘Yeah, I hate that girl, I hit her on purpose.’ Basketball play my a**. ‘I knew I could whack her in the head and knock her over, so that’s what I did.’ Then I’d respect it,” Portnoy added.

His explicit tirade follows his unfiltered tweets during Sunday’s game. After Dana Evans hooked Clark’s arm on her way to the basket, Portnoy posted the play and wrote: “Chicago Sky doing Chicago Sky stuff.”

“Typical Angel Reese and Sky Behavior,” Dave Portnoy commented after Reese’s hard foul. “Meanwhile, Caitlin is dominating them.”

The Fever’s victory marks their second consecutive win, bringing their record to 5-10. The Sky, on the other hand, have lost four in a row and now stand at 4-9.
