Disney Plus is set to pip Amazon Prime Video to secure rights for Coleen Rooney’s new reality TV show, reports claim today.

Coleen Rooney leaves Brisbane Airport with Cass, six, after competing in I'm a Celeb

Bosses at the rival platforms have engaged in a bidding war to bag the Kardashian-style programme, it is said, after Coleen wowed fans with impressive antics during I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

The fly-on-the-wall show will follow the Rooneys inside their Cheshire super-mansion and competition has reportedly become fierce for its rights, after Coleen, 38, came second in the jungle in a tense finale.

But an industry source has now said: “It was all set to be Disney’s and then Amazon appeared in the frame That has sent the fee up. It looks now like the show will go to Disney, but there’s still time. Coleen’s time on I’m A Celeb has made her the nation’s sweetheart, even if she didn’t win. The British public can’t get enough of her. Her profile is bigger than ever and the fee for her family’s reality show will reflect that.”

Coleen became one of I’m a Celebrity’s biggest coups in its 21-year history when she appeared in the opening episode of the latest series last month. The mum of four faced terrifying challenges involving snakes, cockroaches and rats during her time in the jungle.

Her agent, Paul Stretford, who also represents her husband, has meanwhile been orchestrating a bidding war between the world’s biggest streaming giants, it is believed. It is understood Netflix showed interest but eventually declined, having commissioned David Beckham’s hit four-part docuseries Beckham – which racked up more than 200 million hours of viewing time globally.

But the Daily Mail reports both Coleen and Wayne, 39, are “enthusiastic” about whichever streaming service snaps up their show. Their four sons; Kai 14, Klay 11, Kit eight, and six-year-old Cass, are all believed to feature in the programme, which may amuse viewers after Kit’s cheeky comments to his mum during his surprise visit to camp last week. Coleen’s mum Colette also surprised her daughter, and it is thought she too will appear in the reality show alongside her husband and Coleen’s dad Tony.

Mr Stretford has been lauded for his negiotation skills previously, having helped mastermind Wayne’s 2004 blockbuster move from Everton to Manchester United in a deal worth £27 million. His ability could set to springboard the couple to new fame in the reality TV market – and bring the Rooneys to a small screen near you soon.
