Brittany Mahomes lends her unwavering support to Caitlin Clark amidst a storm of controversy following the Indiana Fever guard’s clash during Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky.
In a swift response to the shocking incident where Chennedy Carter of the Sky forcefully shoved Caitlin Clark to the ground, Brittany Mahomes, renowned Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, took to Instagram to rally behind the young WNBA rookie sensation.
Encouraging words flowed from the 28-year-old Mahomes, a former soccer player herself, as she penned on Instagram: “@caitlinclark22 keep doing your thing!!”
Mahomes continued her show of solidarity with Clark, affirming, “You’re a baller, and it’s incredible to see what you’re doing for the game and women’s sports!!”
Mahomes’ words of encouragement resonated even more profoundly as they coincided with the WNBA’s decision to upgrade Carter’s foul against Clark to a flagrant-1 violation following a thorough review of the play.

Carter’s forceful shoulder shot that sent Clark tumbling to the floor occurred during the third quarter of Saturday’s closely contested match, which saw the Fever secure a narrow 71-70 victory. Initially categorized as an away-from-the-ball foul and deemed a common foul by officials without a review, the incident gained significant attention post-game.
“I wasn’t expecting it,” Clark remarked after the game, reflecting on the unexpected collision. “It is what it is. It’s a physical game. Go make the free throw and execute on offense, and I feel like that’s kind of what we did.” Carter chose not to address questions about Clark or the play post-game.
In response to player availability to media, the league took action, fining Sky forward Angel Reese $1,000 for her absence from media duties after Saturday’s game. Additionally, Chicago was fined $5,000 for failing to ensure that all players comply with league media policies.
