Samantha Markle Files New $75,000 Defamation Lawsuit Against Meghan Markle
Despite her previous lawsuit being dismissed, Samantha Markle is seeking $75,000 in damages from her half-sister, Meghan Markle, over claims made during Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Samantha alleges that Meghan’s statements about growing up as an “only child” defamed her and hurt her book sales.
In March 2023, a judge dismissed the original lawsuit, ruling Meghan’s comments were opinions, not verifiable facts. Despite experts warning that the new filing is likely to fail, Samantha has amended her lawsuit and pushed forward.
The case is set for a hearing on November 4, 2024. Legal analysts remain skeptical about its success, but the public continues to watch this high-profile family feud unfold.
