The MCU is gearing up for its next theatrical film with Brie Larson’s The Marvels. The sequel to the 2019 solo flick is currently making headlines for two surprising reasons. It will be the most expensive non-Avengers film with the shortest runtime in the MCU with 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The marketing of the film has led to decent excitement from fans and the general public. The film will put together Larson’s Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel.

The Marvels starring Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani is gearing up for release on November 10, 2023. The marketing push for the film is gaining significant momentum everywhere. The film recently received a Chinese poster.

As reported by The Direct, there was a significant change in the marketing there, especially about the film’s title. In China, the film will be released under the name 惊奇队长2, which translates to Captain Marvel 2.

The first Captain Marvel made an impressive $155 million from China alone. Thus it is wise for the makers to release the sequel by naming it plainly as Captain Marvel 2 so that Chinese fans will be automatically excited that a sequel to a film they enjoyed is coming soon.

Nia DaCosta is directing the upcoming Brie Larson-led MCU flick The Marvels. She was given a big canvas to play on and a talented cast to work with. Being a comic book nerd herself, she knew she was working on a dream job but at the same time, she wanted to make a mark as a director by putting her own input in the film. She talked to Entertainment Weekly about maintaining this balance, saying,
“The biggest challenge was finding the balance between my point of view as a director and as a comic book nerd. Obviously, there are changes between the comics and the movies, and sometimes I’m like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa!’ Sometimes Kevin would be like, ‘You’re being too much of a nerd. Please stop.’”
Fans will be able to experience DaCosta’s unique touch to the MCU when The Marvels releases in theaters on November 10, 2023. Meanwhile, fans can catch up on the stories of all three leads of the film by watching Captain Marvel, WandaVision, and Ms. Marvel on Disney+.
