[I saw some videos of concert proposals from other countries. When she watches those kinds of videos she wishes that the same thing will happen to her. Which is why I told myself why not, we’re lucky enough to get the ticket. So when I got the ticket, I knew to myself that this is where I’m going to propose to make the night of the concert more magical.]

He revealed that he and Concepcion had a hard time securing tickets, which sold out within 15 minutes of their release. Still, they were able to secure four tickets for themselves, his sister, and his sister’s boyfriend — who became his “accomplices” for his plan to propose during the concert.

“Nasa kanila ‘yung singsing before yung kanta para hindi niya mahalata. Kasi kung nasa akin yun huli agad eh. So sila naghawak and nag-video samin for the proposal,” he added.

[They had the ring before the song, because if I had the ring I would have gotten caught. So I gave it to them and told them to document the proposal.]

Concepcion did not have a clue that her boyfriend would propose during the concert as she thought of a different scenario because of her love for K-Drama series or movies.

“Actually wala talaga as in, zero percent hint talaga na dun niya yun gagawin kasi kapag nag-uusap kami regarding sa mga proposal, minsan nagpaparinig ako gusto ko sa Korea, or kaya sa Japan. Gusto ko yung mala K-Drama na proposal, yung mala K-Drama na reaksyon ko din. Kaya nung concert na, hindi ko talaga ine-expect na dun niya yun gagawin,” she said.

[I had no idea that he would propose there because when we have conversations regarding proposals, sometimes I gave hints that I want it to be in Korea, or Japan. I wanted it to be the K-Drama type of proposal, and I had the K-Drama type of reaction too. Which is why during the concert, I really didn’t expect that he will propose there.]

So surprised was Concepcion during the moment that she was not even able to officially say yes to Ryan during his proposal.

“Ganun pala kapag nasa situation ka nang ganun. Hindi mo na magagawa kung ano yung pina-plano mo beforehand. Kaya talagang sobrang unexpected and syempre sobrang saya din. Kung iisipin mo kasi yung effort niya pa lang sa pagbili ng ticket tapos yung effort niya para makapunta ng Singapore,” she said.

[I didn’t know that it would be like that when you’re in that situation, you won’t be able to do the plans that you had beforehand. Which is why it was so unexpected and of course I was so happy because of his efforts, from buying the tickets to going to Singapore.]

Novelles expressed his appreciation for the support of other Swifties, as it had been a nerve-wracking moment for him.

“Kinakabahan na ako nun, parang nakayuko na lang ako kasi talagang hinihintay ko na yung right timing talaga. Nung dumating na nga yung kanta, yung lyrics nung kanta, ayun nung pagkaluhod ko, ay nagtitilian talaga lahat ng mga Swifties. Grabe ang support nila,” he said.

[I was nervous that time, I was keeping my head down because I was just waiting for the right timing. When the song was playing, when I was kneeling, all the Swifties around us were screaming. Their support was overwhelming.]
