IT was business as usual again this morning on BBC Breakfast.

Yesterday saw the mysterious disappearance of Jon Kay from the sofa as Sally Nugent presented the show with Ben Thompson.

However, the flagship breakfast programme went back to the usual offering of hosts after the presenter shake-up.

Jon, 54, appeared to be on top form as he reunited with Sally, 52, on the iconic BBC Breakfast sofa.

The TV personality appeared to be in the mood for summer, as he was dressed in a light sand coloured suit which was complimented by a bold Art Deco patterned tie.

Sally was dressed in a sleek navy jumpsuit as she presented the latest news and updates from the BBC.

This comes after the publicly funded corporation revealed a huge shakeup in programming.

BBC One will show extended coverage of the UK General Election results from Thursday night.

Special programming fronted by Clive Myrie and Laura Kuenssberg will air from 9:55pm all the way through to the BBC News at One on Friday.

This means the usual Friday edition of BBC Breakfast with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt has been axed.

However, Jon will still be on hand throughout the morning alongside veteran broadcaster Sophie Raworth.

He was personally chosen by high-level execs out of the roster of BBC Breakfast stars to form part of the historic coverage.

Morning Live taken off air as BBC shows are hit by major schedule shake up
This was despite the fact that he does not usually present the flagship programme on Fridays.

Naga, 49, is also amongs the names to be given a reporting position at a ‘key’ location on election night.

She will form part of the team alongside huge names such as Fiona Bruce, Victoria Derbyshire, and Jeremy Vine.
