A young man has been heralded as the ‘epitome of a true gent’ after he wore his girlfriend’s heels home from their Valentine’s date.

Colin Deschamps, 20, offered to wear Jess Fox’s black high heels after she complained they were hurting her during their date in Sydney’s CBD.

A video of the couple’s shoe swap has been viewed more than 9million times on TikTok with Mr Deschamps praised as an ‘absolute gentleman’ by viewers.

Ms Fox, 20, said it was lucky she and her boyfriend had the same shoe size.

‘We had been out for dinner and had got drinks before, so there was a lot of walking,’ she told news.com.au.

‘But I never wear heels, so after dinner I was complaining that my feet were hurting really bad, so Colin said “we can just switch shoes” because we both share the same shoe size.’

Mr Deschamps gave his girlfriend his sneakers and slipped into her 4cm-high heels, seemingly unfazed by his newfound height.

‘He was walking so naturally I didn’t notice at first,’ one wrote on the viral video.

‘Omg I thought this was sarcasm because he wasn’t holding her hand until I saw the shoes, legend,’ another posted.

It was lucky Mr Deschamps was so comfortable in his new footwear because the walk home from the Italian restaurant was a good 20 minutes.

A passerby witnessed the ‘adorable’ moment and shared it to TikTok.

‘The epitome of a true gent,’ one commented.

‘Bro walks in heels better than me,’ said another.

Ms Fox said she was happy her partner was ‘getting the recognition he deserves’, and added it was his first time in heels as she rarely wears them herself.

Others views said other men would be ’emasculated’ by wearing women’s shoes.

‘A lot of guys wouldn’t do this for fear of being emasculated but this is one of the manliest things you can do,’ they wrote.

‘A king in action showing them how it’s done,’ another agreed.

Another questioned why he didn’t just walk home barefoot.

‘What a weird dude, how is that his approach. Happened to me too where I gave up my footwear and just walked barefoot,’ they wrote.
