The Baltimore Ravens have made a notable roster move just three days before the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
On Thursday afternoon, the Ravens announced on X/Twitter that they have waived second-year linebacker Jeremiah Moon. The 25-year-old appeared in five games for the Ravens during the regular season, making one start.
The Florida product signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He has been waived then re-signed back to the practice squad on multiple occasions, even getting promoted to their roster for Week 18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In his eight game appearances for Jim Harbaugh and company this season, Moon had two forced fumbles and 12 combined tackles.
The Ravens defeated the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round last Saturday to qualify for their first AFC Championship Game since 2012, the last year the team won the Super Bowl. Up next, Lamar Jackson and company will try to dethrone Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Though Mahomes is 3-1 in his career against the Ravens, Jackson and company won the last meeting back in Week 2 of the 2021 season at M&T Bank Stadium in a thrilling “Sunday Night Football” clash.
The winner of the Chiefs-Ravens game will face the victor of the San Francisco 49ers-Detroit Lions NFC Championship contest at Levi’s Stadium.
