According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Las Vegas Raiders “are expected to hire” Kingsbury to fill their vacant offensive coordinator position. Kingsbury spent last season as an offensive analyst for Lincoln Riley’s staff at UCLA.

Last week, Kingsbury was interviewed by the Philadelphia Eagles for their offensive coordinator position. Head coach Nick Sirianni wound up hiring away former Los Angeles Chargers OC Kellen Moore for that vacancy.

Kingsbury was the head coach of the Red Raiders from 2013 to 2018, working with future NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes. In 2019, Kingsbury made the jump to the NFL after accepting the Arizona Cardinals’ head coaching position.

The 44-year-old Kingsbury was tasked with grooming Kyler Murray, the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Kingsbury went 28-37-1 over his four years with Arizona, leading them to a wild card berth in the 2021 season with an 11-6 record.

Kingsbury will join the Raiders’ coaching staff led by HC Antonio Pierce, who was promoted to the full-time position after finishing out 2023 as the interim head coach. Pierce replaced Josh McDaniels following a 3-5 start.

The Raiders finished 8-9 last season, a two-win improvement from the 2022 group.
