The Kansas City Chiefs came out of their Divisional Round win against the Buffalo Bills with several injuries. One of the Kansas City Chiefs’ key pieces suffered a pectoral injury during their win in the Divisional Round against the Buffalo Bills.

All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney suffered a pec strain, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

He received an MRI for the injury on Monday.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the MRI showed that Thuney suffered a pectoral strain, which is a promising sign for his availability.

Rapoport stated the diagnosis is “a potential good sign.”

The interior lineman avoided something more severe such as a pec tear and still has a chance to play on Sunday, although his status does remain “up in the air.”

Thuney played a huge part on Sunday to keep the pocket clean in which Patrick Mahomes was sacked zero times.

Thuney signed with the Chiefs in 2021 on a five-year, $80 million deal after spending his first five seasons with the Patriots. He’s won three Super Bowls — two with New England and one with Kansas City.

The Chiefs will be playing their second-straight road game after defeating the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium this past week.
