The Kansas City Chiefs have unveiled their uniforms for the upcoming Super Bowl.

The reigning champs are returning to the grand finale this year, having beaten the favored Ravens on Sunday. And they’re planning to wear their iconic red jerseys with red helmets and white bottoms.

 

It’s what they’ve worn in two of their last three Super Bowl outings, winning twice, with their only loss coming against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers side led by Tom Brady. They switched to white when they played the Philadelphia Eagles in last year’s game.

As it turns out, white uniforms are considered good luck when it comes to the Super Bowl, with 37 of the previous 57 being won by teams in white. The San Francisco 49ers will be wearing white this year, but that was the case when they lost to the Chiefs in 2020, so this one’s up in the air.

It’s going to come down to a lot more than what the players wear on February 11. The Niners were the best team in the NFC this season and battled some odds in the playoffs as they had to fight back to win both their divisional and conference matchups.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, were considered underdogs all year but have somehow made it back to the Super Bowl, turning things on in the playoffs.
