The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly bringing in a former NFL coach who was recently fired as their new offensive coordinator.

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the team is hiring former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith to take charge of its offense, having parted ways with Matt Canada last year.

Smith was the OC for the Tenessee Titans for two seasons before taking the head coaching job in Atlanta, where he went 21-30 in his three seasons there. He was let go after the team failed to make the playoffs and has since been replaced by former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, who pipped Bill Belichick to the job.

As noted by Pelissero, the former Falcons coach had an impressive run game while working with the Titans, and it will be interesting to see whether he could revive his career with similar success in Pittsburgh.
