In his shocking memoir, the prince has decided to address another personal question that has followed him for years: Who is his real father?

At one point, there were many rumors that Princess Diana didn’t have Harry with the now King Charles III, but with her red-haired lover, Major James Hewitt.

According to The Independent, this is the first time the Duke of Sussex has publicly denied those claims.

“People started the rumors because Major Hewitt has red hair, but also because of his cruel nature,” Harry explained about the alleged connection between him and his supposed father.

However, he was quick to point out that everyone seemed to forget that his mother only started seeing the major after Harry was born. So, aside from their hair color, there’s no real reason to believe in this rumor.

The prince also revealed that the press took things too far at one point, even trying to get his DNA to prove Hewitt was his father. He confessed that he has lived under the weight of these rumors his whole life.
