Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed has been dropping hints about his next NFL team ahead of a potential trade.

Sneed, who is likely to leave the Chiefs after helping them win two Super Bowls, has been commenting under social media posts from Indianapolis Colts players, which suggests that’s where he could be headed.

Cam Marino of DraftBuzz has declared the Colts frontrunners in the race to sign the player.

The Colts haven’t been active in free agency save re-signing their own players and signing defensive tackle Raekwon Davis as a rotation player on a two-year, $14 million deal.

They are understood to have an interest in Sneed, however.

The star CB has been placed under a $19.8 million franchise tag by the Chiefs, who could be resigned to losing him due to salary cap restrictions.

Sneed had a remarkable 2023 season for the Chiefs in which he registered 78 tackles, with 60 solo, five tackles for loss, two interceptions, 14 passes defensed, and a fumble recovery.

He was ranked as PFF’s 30th-best CB with an overall grade of +72.5, as well as a +73.8 coverage grade.

The 27-year-old is attracting lots of attention from other teams this offseason and, at one point, hinted he wanted to join the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, it appears he has his heart set on joining the Colts.

The Chiefs are thought to be holding out for a Day 2 draft pick in exchange for him.
