Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thor, Chris Hemsworth does not feel that his role in the MCU series was the ‘best experience’ in his career. Having established him as one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, the MCU superhero movie helped Hemsworth gain worldwide recognition. However, despite it all, there is another franchise that seems to be closer to Hemsworth’s heart.

Why is Chris Hemsworth so proud of Furiosa?

Highly impressed by iconic filmmaker George Miller, Chris Hemsworth admitted that he felt reignited after working with the Oscar-winning ‘masterful’ director. While talking about his experience while shooting, the Thor: Love and Thunder actor said,

“I came into that film exhausted. I thought, ‘How am I going to get through this?’ Week one of rehearsals with [Miller], all of a sudden it was this reigniting of my creative energy.”

Interestingly, Hemsworth will be starring as a bearded warlord in Mad Max: Fury Road’s prequel Furiosa. Portraying a villainous character, the Extraction actor said that he is most proud of his role in the $526 million franchise so far. He continued,

“[Furiosa is] by far the best experience of my career, and something I feel the most proud of. It made me think, the work isn’t what’s exhausting, it’s what kind of work it is, and how invested I am in it and if it is challenging in the right ways.”

George Miller praises Chris Hemsworth’s acting dimensions

In an interaction with GQ, Furiosa’s director and Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller discussed Chris Hemsworth’s talents. Extremely good at playing the good guy in movies like the Thor series, Miller feels that Hemsworth is great when he is treading the line between good and bad.

Explaining how the Ghostbusters actor has multiple dimensions to him, Miller said, “There’s a lot of dimensions to him. He can turn his hand to anything.”

Apart from Miller, Sam Hargrave, director of Extraction, also revealed that he has never come across a challenge that Hemsworth was not up for. Furthermore, reminiscing about how Hemsworth agreed to do a scene where he was repeatedly set on fire without the help of CGI, he said that Hemsworth just looked sideways, smiled, and instantly agreed to do it.
