Football fans aren’t impressed with the new CBS NFL scoreboard and graphics displayed in preseason play ahead of Week 1.
The new CBS NFL scoreboard and graphics actually debuted in Super Bowl 58 between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11. As a reminder, here is what the new scoreboard looks like:
The popular ML Football X/Twitter account shared a screenshot of the new CBS NFL scoreboard during the Denver Broncos-Arizona Cardinals preseason game on Sunday. And let’s just say that the new scoreboard/graphics aren’t being well-received:

CBS initially aired NFL games from 1956 to 1994 before losing their television rights to FOX Sports. After a three-year hiatus, CBS regained the broadcast rights in 1998 and have retained them ever since.
The current NFL media deals were signed in 2021 with a cost of over $100 billion. CBS, ESPN/ABC, NBC and FOX Sports maintained their coverage, with Amazon Prime Video taking over the “Thursday Night Football” broadcasts after FOX decided not to renew it.
CBS called Super Bowl 58 last season. The network’s coverage of the 2024 season will end with the AFC Championship Game, with FOX airing Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The 2024 CBS NFL Broadcast Teams
Last month, CBS announced their broadcast teams for the 2024 NFL season. Once again, Jim Nantz, Tony Romo and Tracy Wolfson will be the network’s No. 1 team, with the crew on the call for the Los Angeles Chargers-Las Vegas Raiders Week 1 game.
The other broadcast teams consist of Ian Eagle, Charles Davis and Evan Washburn (CBS’ No. 2 team), Kevin Harlan, Trent Green and Melanie Collins, Andrew Catalon, Tiki Barber, Jason McCourty and AJ Ross, Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta and Aditi Kinkhabwala, and Tom McCarthy, Jay Feely and Ross Tucker.
Former NFL official and Super Bowl referee Gene Steratore will continue to serve as the on-air rules analyst.
