Tasha Ghouri is looking to take the next step in her career after her time on Strictly Come Dancing.

As the second deaf contestant on the show, the 26-year-old has consistently impressed this season, topping the leaderboard on Strictly multiple times and achieving the first perfect score of 2024 with her American Smooth performance.

With only two weeks left in the competition, Tasha is already eyeing new opportunities in television presenting.

‘I haven’t had lots of TV offers yet, but I’d love to do presenting next year,’ Tasha said.

‘I think that’s my main focus and something I’m definitely looking at. Hopefully there’ll be conversations that start next year.’

Born deaf and wearing a cochlear implant, she made history on Love Island as its first deaf contestant, finishing joint fourth with her boyfriend, Andrew Le Page, with whom she remains in a relationship.

Tasha and Aljaz score first perfect 40 of Strictly 2024

The reality TV star added: ‘I really enjoyed what I’ve done for the past two years. I’ve got my own podcast [Superpowers with Tasha]. I’ve done panel chats, I’ve done so many things, but I feel like the next year really want to kind of push myself into a different, whole new skill.’

Partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec, 34, Tasha has impressed with performances like the Paso Doble to Torn by Nathan Lanier and a Waltz to (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin.

Despite her success so far, the model and podcaster admits the end of her Strictly journey will really affect her.

‘It’s going to be very emotional. But for me and Aljaž, goodbye is not goodbye. The friendship we’ve made – I feel like we’re going to stay friends for life, truly. I will definitely miss the rehearsals and the dancing.

‘This has been a dream show of mine since I was little. Closing this Strictly chapter is going to feel really emotional.

‘I get emotional just thinking about it. But honestly, this is not goodbye for us at all. We’re definitely going to have many memories, with many more to come.’

Aljaž, who took a two-year break from Strictly to focus on family life, shared how becoming a father has impacted his dancing.

‘The last two years looking after my pregnant missus, and bonding with my little, beautiful princess, was just the best thing – the best decision I’ve ever made’, he explained.

‘And then the second best decision I’ve ever made was to come back. I’ve enjoyed these weeks because I see it now through a different set of eyes.

‘It’s a new perspective now, and I feel like being a dad has given me a greater respect for the opportunity – not that I never had it before, but it’s different now.

‘Every single day in rehearsals, every single day on the studio floor, I grasp it with both hands, and I feel like I’ve actually done a better job.

‘I think of myself as a professional, and I believe I’ve been a great dad because I have to balance my time as a dad and my time dancing. I feel like everything has been better because of it.’

The 34-year-old, married to fellow professional dancer Janette Manrara, who also presents the Strictly companion programme It Takes Two, added: ‘What we’re doing right now and how I feel right now is probably the best I’ve ever felt on Strictly.’
