Coronation Street’s Toyah Battersby actress Georgia Taylor has shared her reaction to her character’s latest storylines following a dramatic few months on the ITV soap
It’s been a dramatic time for the character in recent months, from the tragic truth about her daughter Rose being revealed, to her fling with Nick Tilsley and her feud with Rowan Cunliffe. Just a few days ago Toyah was rushed to hospital where she received the unexpected news that she was pregnant, after years of fertility struggles.
Nick knew he was the father with Leanne Battersby yet to find out her husband has betrayed her with her own sister. But on Friday another huge twist aired, as Toyah received some worrying health news.
After an ultrasound, doctors broke the news to Toyah that she was not pregnant and the result was false. They then confirmed that Toyah had ovarian cancer.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actress Georgia has revealed what will unfold in the coming days and weeks following the news. She also teased there could be more to come for Nick and Toyah, as she turns to him amid her health battle.

She said: “We have the possible pregnancy storyline and the health based storyline which I can’t say too much about, but it will potentially bring Toyah and Nick even closer together. What we see as it unfolds is Leanne start to emotionally distance herself from her sister.
“So the only person left really for Toyah in her support network, because she doesn’t have any other family around, is Nick.” Speaking about the affair twist, Georgia confessed she wasn’t expecting it.
She said: “I was shocked but I was like, that could be really fun. I love working with Ben Price [who plays Nick]. I love working with Jane [who plays Leanne], that goes without saying and I get to hang out with them all day and play different storylines. it is a confusing mix of emotions.”
