Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player in the NBA’s history. In addition to his on-court prowess, Jordan was also known for his off-court expenses. Recently, he surprised everyone by purchasing a rare and luxurious item that caught the attention of fans and media alike.
A recent video uploaded by Joe Pompliano on X (formerly Twitter) revealed that Jordan has added a business jet to his collection. The business jet is a personally customized Gulfstream G650ER, which reportedly costs around $70 million. Additionally, the jet features a custom paint job that likely cost over $500,000. One of the most notable details about the plane is the tail number “N236MJ,” which reflects Jordan’s name.
Gulfstream Aerospace launched the G650ER on May 18, 2014. Thanks to its 4,000-pound (1,814 kg) increase in fuel capacity, the jet is capable of flying 7,500 nautical miles (13,900 km; 8,600 mi) at Mach 0.85. The G650ER holds two world records for traveling.
The G650ER is not the only plane that Jordan bought from Gulfstream Aerospace. According to Joe Pompliano, the Bulls legend also owns a Gulfstream G550 jet, which cost $60 million. The private jet is also wrapped in an elephant print. The plane can accommodate 19 passengers, and MJ had it renovated to include a bar and cigar station. The tail number is N236MJ.
