There’s no room for errors when Vivienne is on the job.

Since MCU’s Eternals, Angelina Jolie has remained out of the public spotlight until recently, as she joined her youngest daughter at the red carpet premiere of her Broadway show. Vivienne, 15, whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt, known for starring alongside her mother in 2014’s Maleficent, joined forces with Jolie in the new stage adaptation of S. E. Hinton’s The Outsiders.

The Oscar winner recalled that Vivienne, who worked as an assistant on the stage adaptation, was pretty committed to her job, and didn’t shy away from schooling Jolie on several instances.

Previously adapted by Francis Ford Coppola in 1983, starring Tom Cruise, S. E. Hinton’s beloved coming-of-age novel has remained a classic among readers since its publication back in 1967. In the Stage adaptation of the acclaimed novel, in which Angelina Jolie serves as a producer and her youngest daughter serves as an assistant, the actor revealed Vivienne can be “really tough”.

Speaking to the People, the Salt Star explained the 15-year-old won’t shy away from correcting her, who she also confirmed is hands-down the biggest theatre head in the family.

She said:

“She’ll correct me… She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this. We have to go through this.’ ” She’s been a really tough assistant… She takes it very, very seriously.”

With Vivienne taking a firm interest in her mother’s craft, as Jolie revealed she “has learned so much from Justin Levine (Co-writer of The Outsiders)”, her future in showbiz seems pretty bright.

Vivienne Reminds Angelina Jolie of Her Grandma

While Vivienne took a keen interest in supporting other crew and cast members, assuring everything on set was going smoothly, Jolie revealed that she never fixated on being the center of attention.

Expanding on it, the Marvel Star explained this trait of her daughter reminded the actor of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, most notably known for her work in Lookin’ to Get Out. Speaking to E! News, Jolie stressed that Vivienne was determined to learn to contribute, and being the theatre head of the family, she takes the medium very seriously.

She said:

“Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn’t focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives… She’s very thoughtful and serious about theatre and working hard to best understand how to contribute.”

Although Vivienne doesn’t take center stage in the Broadway show, which Jolie is excited for the audiences to see, it’s safe to assume this is just the beginning of a long and illustrious career.
