Blind comedian Chris and Aussie pro Dianne Buswell performed three routines, which wowed the judges and viewers at home.
JLS star JB Gill and pro Lauren Oakley, actress Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, and Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri and Ajaz Skorjanec also took to the dancefloor for the last time.
Despite several fans saying Chris was a “worthy” winner, some said Tasha was “technically” better and should have one.
One wrote: “Such a shame people vote for their favourite celebrity, not the best dancer. It’s been clear from day one who would win, simply based on who they are, not how they dance.”
A second said: “Chris was amazing but Tasha was technically better.”
A third echoed: “Was there any point watching #Strictly final? I mean it was a guarantee that Chris was going to win the glitterball no matter if someone is better on the night tbh feel bit sorry for the rest of the celebs for even trying.”
This person shared: “Chris is the weakest of the 4 finalists. But he is the most deserving winner.”
Another added: “Tasha and Sarah should have won, they were much more sleek on the dancefloor. But Chris is still a worthy winner.”
After Chris was crowned, the comic broke down in tears and hugged pro Dianne.
He told co-host Tess Daily: “It’s astonishing, I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I’d go out in the first week or two.
“I know nobody went out on the first week but i still thought I could.”
He went on to praise Dianne adding: “She’s positivity, she’s belief, and she’s honestly just one of the easiest people to be funny with.”
“With opportunity, support and determination, anything can happen.
Chris performed a Show Dance to You Get What You Give by New Radicals, a Couple’s Choice to Instant Karma! (We All Shine On) by John Lennon and a Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Tasha took to the dancefloor with a Show Dance to Sing, Sing, Sing by Benny Goodman, a Couple’s Choice to What About Us by P!nk and an American Smooth to Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi.
Miranda star Sarah performed her Show Dance to Cabaret by Metropole Orkest, an American Smooth to Proud by Heather Small and a Cha Cha to Like A Prayer by Madonna.
Pop star JB will perform a Show Dance to a Motown Medley, followed by a Viennese Waltz to Let’s Go Fly A Kite from Mary Poppins and lastly a Samba to Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes.
Last week we saw Pete Wicks and Jowita Pryzstal go home in the semi-final dance off, narrowly missing out on their place in the final.
Pete and Jowita took to the floor once again with Tasha Ghouri and Alijaz Skorjanec in the dance floor, with judges choosing to save Tasha and Alijaz to dance again.
