Green Bay Packers All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander certainly sounds like he’d prefer a fresh start in 2025.
Jaire Alexander missed all but seven games in 2024 due to a series of injuries. There was hope that he’d return late in the regular season or at least for the playoffs, but the club’s Week 11 road game against the Chicago Bears (a 20-19 victory) turned out to be his final appearance of the year.
The Packers defense sorely missed Alexander in Sunday’s lopsided 22-10 Wild Card Round loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. And going by his latest comments, it sure sounds like the 2018 first-round pick is ready to move on.
Per Kelly Hallinan of NBC 26 in Green Bay, Jaire Alexander declined to speak to reporters at Monday’s team locker room cleanout. Alexander added that he didn’t want to talk because he didn’t have anything positive to say:
“When Jaire Alexander was asked to speak with the media at locker room cleanout, he declined, saying he doesn’t even know if he is going to be here next year. Said he didn’t have anything good to say so definitely wasn’t going to talk.”

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur previously declined to comment if there was a disagreement with Jaire Alexander about his injury. Going by the latest comments from the two-time Pro Bowler, it sure sounds like Alexander would have played if it was his decision.
Once in the conversation for the NFL’s best cornerback, the injury bug has unfortunately kept Alexander sidelined aplenty over the last four years. He missed all but four games in 2021 and has now been limited to 14 total games over the last two years.
Jaire Alexander Is Signed Through 2026
Alexander and the Packers agreed to a lucrative four-year contract extension worth $84 million in 2022. The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his deal, and there would likely be considerable interest on the trade market if the Packers made him available.
For his career, Alexander has 12 interceptions, 70 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
