Scotty McCreery has performed for massive audiences since he was on American Idol in 2011. He sang multiple songs for the nationwide Idol audience and has been on several major tours. Over the years, he’s had four successful headlining tours and provided support for major acts like Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts. However, he recently shared a video of him singing to his favorite audience, his son Avery.

Last Friday (January 10), McCreery took to social media to share a video of him spending some quality time with his son Avery. In the clip, the two-year-old boy is all smiles while his dad sings for him. However, he isn’t singing a children’s song. Instead, he’s sharing an important message with his young son with “Porch” from his 2024 album Rise & Fall.

McCreery co-penned the song with Heather Morgan and Graylan James and put it at the end of his most recent album. Throughout the song’s verses, McCreery sings about the small joys in life like sitting on the porch after a long day. In the clip above, he sings the third and final verse of the song which seems as if it were written with his little one in mind.

Scotty McCreery’s Son Reached a Major Milestone at the Grand Ole Opry

Scotty McCreery reached one of his career goals in April 2024 when he joined the Grand Ole Opry. However, that’s not the only lifelong memory he made on that hallowed stage.

Last year, McCreery talked to American Songwriter about his year and recalled that Avery reached a major milestone while in the Grand Ole Opry House. “My little boy Avery, his first steps were at the Grand Ole Opry last Christmas when I was doing the Christmas show,” McCreery said. “I just thought that was so cool.”

Later in the evening, he was onstage with Garth Brooks gave him the best gift he could’ve gotten. Brooks invited McCreery to join the Opry. “That was a big night for the whole family. I tell you what, that was a fun one,” he said.
