The 90s icon revealed she’s had a “hard start” to the year while opening up to fans in her caption

JENNIFER Love Hewitt looked incredible as she shared makeup and filter-free selfies for her 46th birthday, slamming the ‘cruel’ treatment of women as they age.

Actress Jennifer took to Instagram to post the bare-faced photos, revealing she’s had a “hard start” to the year but is finding peace in the process.

Sticking out her tongue while wearing a blue sweatshirt, she wrote in her caption: “46 years old. No make up and no filter. (One of my besties hates a filter so this is for you).

“It’s been a hard start to the year. I don’t quite feel myself. But yet I feel like maybe this is all to bring me closer to who I am meant to be.”

Jennifer reflected on feelings of loss but said they’ve led to an unexpected sense of calm and letting go, something she admits doesn’t usually come easily to her.

She also expressed gratitude for her family and friends, sharing that her children, Autumn, Atticus, and Aidan, and husband Brian Hallisay, 46, are her greatest joy, her brother’s hugs are healing, and she feels her late mother’s presence every day.

The Ghost Whisperer star added: “I have all the things I really need and long truly for nothing other than joyful moments, continuing in the career I love, more time with friends, delicious food and to feel a shift to this year that brings clarity and hopefully the return of a little magic.”

She also spoke out about the way society treats women as they age, acknowledging both the hardships and the strength that comes with growing older.

Jennifer continued: “I have experienced and seen how the world can be cruel to women as they age and yet seen the women I admire become happier, sexier and more powerful with every added number.

“I am so deeply grateful for this life. I love all who choose to do it by my side and I am ready to give love today to the younger me and the older me because they are my ride or die’s.

“Sending love to all and cheers to 46!”

It follows reports Jennifer is in talks to reprise her role in the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot.

Freddie Prinze Jr. is also tapped to return as his character but fans appear divided over the rest of the announced cast.

Sony has cast Outer Banks actress Madelyn Cline and Riverdale star Camila Mendes in the lead roles of the reboot of the 1997 horror film, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Also in negotiations are Tony Award nominee Sarah Pidgeon, Atlanta’s Tyriq Withers, and The Little Mermaid (2023) star Jonah Hauer-King,

Scheduled for theatrical release on July 18, 2025, the Jennifer Kaytin Robinson-directed slasher remake may also see Jennifer Love Hewitt, 45, and Freddie Prinze Jr., 48, reprise their roles of Julie James and Ray Bronson, respectively.

Hewitt and Prinze previously returned to the series in the 1998 sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, while skipping out on 2006’s I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer as it featured an all-new cast and did not see a theatrical release.

In 2021, Amazon debuted a series based on the property – it also excluded the original film’s lead actors.

The streaming series was canceled after one season in January 2022.
