Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers are headed to the Super Bowl after two consecutive games where it appeared they might have to regroup for next season.

The young quarterback came up with the goods late on against the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round and came alive against the Detroit Lions in the second half. However, there’s still lots of doubt over whether he deserves all the praise he’s getting.

Of course, there’s no doubt among members of the coaching staff, who trust Brock completely. His teammates also have confidence in his ability to lead them, but Nick Bosa still seemed a bit surprised at what Mr. Irrelevant was able to do against the Lions, having also used his feet to pick up important downs for San Francisco.
“The fact that you’re doing this blows my mind,” the defensive end was heard telling Purdy after the game. “Did you think you’d be this good?”

“Honestly, I could be better, bro,” Purdy replied.

“How much confidence did you have?” Bosa probed. “Because I was the second pick in the draft and I lacked confidence at times.”

“It’s part of it, bro, it’s a game,” Purdy said.

The Niners are now set to play the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on February 11. One more win from Purdy, and he would have done enough to silence his detractors.
