Brock Purdy went from Mr. Irrelevant to going to the Super Bowl.

Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers outlasted Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions. Purdy threw for 267 yards and a touchdown, and the San Francisco 49ers rallied from 17 points down at halftime to beat the Detroit Lions 34-31 on Sunday and reach the Super Bowl.

The 49ers defense kicked in at the right time.

After the game, Purdy found his family on the field and a hot mic caught their kind words to him.

His mother screams as his father tells him how proud of him he is.

San Francisco managed to make the long journey back to this stage and now is in a position to deliver the franchise its record-tying sixth Super Bowl title and first since the 1994 season.

Purdy will once again need to be on his game as the team will need him to find that end zone several times against a stout Chiefs defense in Las Vegas in two weeks.
