HAVING made it to the NBA, one of Michael Jordan’s former teammates has made the move to TV.

Forward Jared Jeffries, 41, enjoyed an eleven-year NBA career before making his way onto the nation’s TV screens in a new role.

Jeffries was a star at Indiana, named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2001, and the Big Ten Player of the Year and an All-Big 10 First-Teamer a year later.

His college prowess was enough to convince the Washington Wizards to use the eleventh overall pick on him in 2002.

One of his teammates in his rookie year was none other than Jordan during what proved to be his final season.

Discussing their time as teammates, Jeffries told FS1’s Fair Game in 2019: “He was always the first guy in the gym.

“And he did such an amazing job of kind of directing and leading all of us that year, just with his dedication.

“As a 40-year-old player, he would get his knees worked on before the games and you could tell that he was on his last leg, but he still had two 40-point games that year, he’s the only guy in the NBA to this day to score 40 at 40 years old.”

In fact, Jeffries revealed that he has one of the shoes worn by Jordan during one of his 40-point games that season.

Jeffries played just 20 games as a rookie, taking on an expanded role in 2003.

He remained in Washington for four seasons before spending the best part of six seasons with the New York Knicks – divided into two stints by a year with the Houston Rockets from 2010-2011.

A solitary season with the Portland Trail Blazers followed before he retired in 2013.

Jeffries went on to work as a scout for the Denver Nuggets, eventually becoming their Director of Player Personnel.

He later ventured into the eSports world as the President of Echo Fox.

Meanwhile, from 2013-2018, Jeffries hosted five seasons of Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries on the Outdoor Channel.

Then in 2023, he achieved what he later described in a tweet as a “life long dream” when he appeared on The Price Is Right, winning a Toyota Corolla in the process.
