Britney Spears has ensured her $60 million fortune is well-protected, after it was revealed her husband Sam Asghari has filed for divorce.

The singer, 41, and model, 29, signed an iron-clad prenuptial agreement that tightly guards her vast wealth, meaning he won’t receive a penny of any money she made before their marriage.

On Wednesday it was revealed that Sam and Britney had split after a year of marriage, with sources claiming he moved out following a ‘huge argument’ over rumours she’d been unfaithful.

But it now seems unlikely that Sam will take much away from his marriage to Britney, with the prenup stating that he was entitled to ‘$1 million per every two years’ of their marriage, with a cap at $10 million after 15 years, according to US Weekly.

Sam has also allegedly waived any claims to Britney’s music collection, and his name is not listed on the deeds of their shared home in Thousand Oaks, California.

The couple splashed out $11.8 million on the property, though a vast chunk of that came from Britney’s fortune.

According to the prenup, Britney and Sam agreed to put the house into a limited liability company or LLC in the event of a divorce.

Since she and Sam tied the knot, Britney has added to her fortune by signing a $15 million deal with publishing house Simon & Schuster for a tell-all memoir titled The Woman In Me.

The star also returned to music by releasing two new singles, a new version of Tiny Dancer with Elton John, and Mind Your Business with will.i.am.

Britney also signed an underlying rights agreement for the jukebox music Once Upon a One More Time, meaning she can receive income from tickets sales along with touring and licencing.

It’s currently unclear whether the prenup states whether Sam is entitled to any money made after they married.

It comes hours after Britney was pictured without her wedding ring after it was revealed she and Sam had split following a year of marriage.

According to court documents, Asghari is asking the millionaire for spousal support and to cover his attorney’s fees, but it’s unlikely their prenup will be thrown out.

It’s thought that the pair have agreed to put the house into a limited liability company or LLC.

Asghari’s lawyer Neal Hersh said that things still need to be determined regarding their finances — despite their ‘iron-clad’ prenup in place that protects the singer’s premarital assets.

‘[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party,’ Hersh wrote.

‘There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.’

A source told the outlet that it’s unlikely the prenup will be thrown out and that it’s more likely that ‘Britney will write a check to Sam and that will be the end of it.’

Page Six reported that Britney has hired celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser — who boasts A-list clients such as Kim Kardashian, Kevin Costner and Johnny Depp.

But it’s been alleged that Asghari is threatening to release ‘extraordinarily embarrassing’ about his spouse if she refuses to renegotiate the terms — something a source close to Spears told DailyMail.com is ‘absurd.’

Wasser is huge proponent for prenups regardless of a wealth status as she believes marrying someone is the ‘biggest decision of your life.’

Before walking down the aisle, she encourages couples work out an agreement ‘about key things like kids, finances and how you plan to care for your parents as they get older.’

It was Page Six that reported that Asghari is ‘focused’ on ‘attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.’

But another source told DailyMail.com: ‘[These claims] are absurd and there is no way her attorney, a former federal prosecutor, would ever let anyone ever extort Britney Spears.’

Britney’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart played a key role in working out the terms shortly after Asghari proposed to Spears in September 2021.

At the time the model was fairly humourous about their vastly different fortunes, writing on Instagram: ‘Thank you everyone who is concerned about The prenup! Of course we’re getting iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection in case she dumps me one day.’

An insider previously claimed to the New Yorker that Spears previously had a multi-million dollar fortune in the early 2000s, but it had been whittled down to only ‘a few million dollars’ when her conservatorship was established in 2008.

The arrangement doled out a $2,000-per-week allowance for the songstress, but her father paid himself around $16,000 per month to run the conservatorship, and her former court-appoint attorney Samuel Ingham III was paid a yearly salary of $520,000, according to the outlet.

DailyMail.com confirmed Wednesday that Asghari and Spears have gone their separate ways after a ‘nuclear argument’ that saw him confront his wife over rumoUrs she was unfaithful. It is unknown whether the rumors are true.

Asghari was said to have believed the rumours Spears was unfaithful, with the pair having a ‘huge fight’ and Asghari moving out of their home and now living in a place of his own.

The pair wed in June 2022 but had been together since 2016.
