Hulk Hogan claimed that his biopic is still in works, but Netflix is no longer attached as they failed to meet the date

Known as one of the greatest names to emerge from the squared circle, the WWE icon reflected on his planned biopic that has been put on ice. While a Hulk Hogan biopic was actively being developed by Netflix per reports, which attached prominent names, including Joker director Todd Philips as the director, the recent update on the project’s state is less than stellar.

Following the fuss surrounding the project, Mr. Nanny Star came forward to address the matter while reflecting on the biopic, claiming that the script for the movie is as good as The Godfather.

Hulk Hogan Deemed His Stalled Biopic as Good as The Godfather

With Netflix no longer behind the wheels of the biopic, Hulk Hogan stated that the project is still in the works, claiming the reason he chose to shift gears was because Netflix, “missed the date, as far as a business situation”. Further reflecting on the script for the film, which was developed by Scott Silver, the man responsible for 2019’s Joker, Hogan claimed that he was taken aback by Silver’s work. He even deemed the script in the same league as Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather and Brian De Palma’s Scarface, some of the most influential works in film history.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, he said,
“But yeah, the script came back, and it was amazing. I mean, because my favorite movies were like Scarface, The Godfather, True Romance. It was there, it was there. And I just went, whoa!”

Despite the Wrestling icon’s claims of the script being as great as The Godfather, following his history of exaggerating stories, it’s reasonable to be a little skeptical about the matter.

Hulk Hogan Hopes Chris Hemsworth Will Still Be Inclined to Play Him

Although the future of the biopic appears gloomy following Philips’ commitments to Joker and Netflix pulling the plugs off, Hogan is optimistic Chris Hemsworth will be inclined to stay in the project. While it’s unclear whether the Marvel Star, who was originally cast to play the master of the atomic leg drop, will return to the project or not, Hogan remains hopeful. He said,
“There’s a lot of things getting ready to happen. So, hopefully, Todd Phillips and Chris Hemsworth will still wanna play. There’s still a huge opportunity there.”

Even though it can’t be said for sure if the biopic will ever see the end of the day or not, it’d be interesting to see if the possible movie would be able to touch the standard implied by Hogan.
