Ruth Langsford issued an apology on behalf of her Loose Women co-star Janet Street Porter this afternoon.
The ladies were joined by ITV co-star Coleen Nolan as the three of them had a chat behind scenes, but Janet said something she shouldn’t have.
Capturing the Loose Women ladies having a chat about hairstyles in the ITV corridor, the short video, posted to Instagram, saw Ruth discussing the length of her fringe.
She said: “I love a fringe… In fact there’s another fringe that you should all know about.”
Plugging her Edinburgh festival show, Janet shouted out: “My fringe!” Ruth echoed: “Her fringe!”
Explaining, Janet continued: “I’m on at the Edinburgh Festival. Friday.” Realising her error, Janet’s hands flew to her mouth as she shouted: “Oh s**t! It’s the wrong day!”
Ruth and Coleen burst out laughing in hysterics, before Coleen shook her finger and said: “Don’t go Friday.”Correcting herself, Janet added: “Right, I’m on Sunday. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. 5pm. It’s the last show on the last day of the Fringe.
“Come and see me. That’s a bit of a beg, I know.” Coleen corrected her friend once more, as she sternly said: “No it’s not, it’s an order.”
Captioning the clip, which was posted to her Instagram Stories, 64-year-old Ruth issued an apology on her friend and co-star’s behalf. She wrote: “Excuse Potty Mouth! @Therealjanetstreetporter. Hopefully she wont swear at the Edinburgh Fringe on SUNDAY!!”
The ITV star added a link to buy tickets to her post, supporting Janet further. Baggage: Janet Street-Porter In Conversation With Christopher Biggins will see the Loose Women panellist in “the battle of the babblers”.
Tickets for the event, which is set to last for two hours, are currently on sale for £54.14 each. It will take place at Prestonfield House Hotel.
Speaking about appearing at the festival, Janet said: “I haven’t done a show in Edinburgh since 2003 – that’s more than 20 years ago. I thought I would dip my toe back in the water by doing a one-nighter with Biggins and, who knows, it might inspire me to come back to the fringe.
Janet Street Porter caused quite the stir with her slip-up during a recent chat with her Loose Women co-stars Ruth Langsford and Coleen Nolan. The trio were chatting about hairstyles in a behind-the-scenes video posted on Instagram, when Janet accidentally revealed the wrong day for her upcoming show at the Edinburgh Festival. Ruth quickly jumped in to issue an apology on Janet’s behalf, jokingly referring to her as “Potty Mouth”. Despite the mix-up, Janet’s show, Baggage: Janet Street-Porter In Conversation With Christopher Biggins, is still highly anticipated by fans. The event promises to be a battle of the babblers and will last for two hours at the prestigious Prestonfield House Hotel. Tickets are currently available for £54.14 each. This will be Janet’s first show in Edinburgh in over 20 years, and she is excited to see where it may lead in terms of future performances.
