Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas has issued a cryptic warning to her fans, as the investigation into Giovanni Pernice continues.

Shirley Ballas has sent out a veiled message on her social media, cautioning fans against being “recruited to hate another person” amidst the ongoing probe involving former Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice.

The Strictly Come Dancing head judge, 63, hasn’t shied away from voicing her support for the 33-year-old dance professional, who has faced scrutiny after his departure from the BBC One show earlier this year.

Shirley has been openly supportive of Giovanni, telling The Mirror: “I know he is a hard worker. He wants the people to do the very best that they can do. Obviously, in my life, I was bullied a lot.

“I don’t condone bullying on any path but also I don’t believe gossip and what you read in the newspapers because things get escalated and they are blown way out of all proportion and it can turn into a great big snowball.

“So my feeling for Giovanni is, let them do this investigation or whatever it is they are doing and the truth will come out. So we don’t judge anybody until I know absolutely 100 percent.

“I have never ever, ever experienced any ill will or bad feeling or bad sportsmanship or rudeness from him. He will be missed.”

BBC executives have reportedly advised Shirley to temper her remarks while the probe involving Giovanni unfolds and new information comes to light. “Shirley has been told she needs to rein it in and not talk about Giovanni in the context of the case”, claimed an insider to the aforementioned publication.

“It’s such a complex thing that we can’t have people associated with the show speaking out about it.”
