New York Giants running back Devin Singletary had the chance to cap a long run with a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, but instead, he produced an all-time bad beat.

He pulled off a selfless move at the last second as he went down at the 1-yard-line instead of scoring.

Everybody knew why he did it, but an ESPN Bet TikTok account took things way too far with how they described it.

While the touchdown would have made it a two-score deficit for the Browns, who had zero timeouts, it would have left Cleveland enough time to possibly stage a miracle comeback.

Devin Singletary’s sliding instead of scoring allowed the Giants to kneel out the remaining time on the clock and garner their first win of the 2024 season.

Singletary’s decision was a particularly bad beat for anyone who had bet the 0ver, which was 37.5. The combined score as it stood was 36.

ESPN Bet’s TikTok post made it worse:

“Devin Singletary intentionally doesn’t score a touchdown, so the game goes under the 37.5 point total,” reads ESPN Bet’s TikTok post on Sunday.

Many people called for him to sue ESPN:

Devin Singletary Was Instrumental In The Giants Getting First Victory

Devin Singletary sealed the win for the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland despite him refusing to score a touchdown.

The New York Giants running back broke open a 43-yard run just before the two-minute warning at Huntington Bank Field, but instead of walking in, he slid just before scoring.

Singletary finished with 65 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in the win for the Giants.

He also had four catches on four targets for 43 yards as well.
