The Cleveland Browns have provided details following a frightening injury to running back D’Onta Foreman, which required him to be airlifted from practice on Thursday.

Foreman took a blow to the head during a punting drill that left him with severe neck pain, and he was carted off the field before being taken to an ambulance. It would appear that the injury was too serious for him to be driven, so he was flown to a medical center in Roanoke, Virginia, via helicopter.

Fortunately, the RB was able to move normally after the blow.

Cleveland Browns Offer Update On D’Onta Foreman

The Browns relayed the above in a statement on social media after news of the injury broke.

“During practice today, Browns RB D’Onta Foreman sustained a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain. The Browns athletic training staff deployed their standard emergency action procedures to immobilize Foreman,” it reads.

“He was taken to an ambulance and is being transported via helicopter to a Medical Center in Roanoke, VA, to undergo further medical evaluation. Foreman had movement in all his extremities. Updates will be provided as more information is received.”

D’Onta Foreman’s teammates were seen kneeling in practice as they offered prayers on his behalf after the incident.

Everything points to a very serious injury at the moment, but we hope for the best and wish the player a speedy recovery.
