Meghan Markle’s attempt to overshadow Princess Kate and King Charles was criticised by a royal commentator.
A royal commentator has hit out at Meghan Markle for attempting to overshadow the Princess of Wales’s return to public life and King Charles’s Trooping the Colour celebrations by launching dog biscuits a raspberry jam in what was labelled a “very Meghan-esque” and “desperate” move.
Last Saturday’s celebrations for the King’s birthday saw Princess Kate make a reappearance after six months of being off the radar following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
But the joyous day was met by the Duchess of Sussex’s launch of the latest products to be sold under her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which were a jar of raspberry and dog biscuits.
Nacho Figueras, a polo player and friend of Prince Harry and Meghan posted the pictures of the products he got sent on his social media, just hours before the birthday parade began.
Now royal pundit Lizzie Cundy blasted the timing of Meghan’s move, calling it “desperate” and “something else”.
Meghan Markle was savaged by a royal commentator
She told GBN America: “The whole world was watching to see Princess Kate and how incredibly stunning, fragrant and beautiful she looked. We hadn’t seen her for seven months. We’ve been so worried about her.
“The sad thing was that Meghan, four hours before Trooping the Colour, is launching dog biscuits which is really something else.
“Her friend posted about these new dog treats and it was all very Meghan-seque.
“They were posting four hours before posting King Charles’s official birthday which seems pretty desperate.”
The Princess of Wales appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony once again
Back in March, the Duchess of Sussex soft-launched American Riviera Orchard by landing a new Instagram page for it and then – just hours before Prince William gave a speech at an event in London.
The page linked to the brand’s website with a waiting list for it.
Since then, the only update on the brand was the debut of the first product to be sold under its name, a jar of strawberry jam, as well as the latest raspberry jam and dog biscuits.
American Riviera Orchard will reportedly be selling a number of unusual items, including dog shampoo, chicken feed and yoga bolsters.
