Meghan Markle can’t find staff for American Riviera Orchard for one simple reason, a royal commentator has claimed.
Meghan Markle is said to be struggling to find staff for her new brand, American Riviera Orchard for one key reason, according to a royal commentator.
The Duchess of Sussex soft launched her latest lifestyle brand earlier this year by landing a new Instagram page as well as a website with a waiting list for it.
American Riviera Orchard’s page only featured a logo, a bio that said “by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex” and linked to the website where people can join a waiting list.
Since March, the only update on the duchess’s newest business venture was the debut of the first product to be sold under the brand’s name, a jar of strawberry jam, given to 50 influencers to taste test.
However, the brand’s momentum seemed to have been driven to a halt and now a royal commentator spoke to the Mirror and claimed it’s all down to Meghan wanting staff that are “full of their own ideas” while also being “compliant to her wishes”.

Royal author Tom Quinn suggested that one of Meghan’s biggest problems when she was a senior working royal was that she believed that palace “staff should jump when they’re told to jump”.
He explained: “She doesn’t have the ultra-polite old-fashioned English habit of asking staff if they would mind ordering a pizza or ringing for a car or organising a lunch.”
Mr Quinn added: “The result of Meghan’s tough outlook is that she is having difficulties finding staff for her new brand – she wants them to be full of ideas of their own, but also totally compliant to her wishes.”
The duchess’s latest business venture was said to channel Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop which sells all kinds of different products from candles, creams and crystals to vibrators.
Meghan Markle’s brand will sell different kinds of items American Riviera Orchard will reportedly be selling a number of unusual items, including dog shampoo, chicken feed and yoga bolsters.
Mr Quinn claimed that Meghan “has absolute self-belief” in regard to her brand but he added: “To make her brand a success she needs to take and accept advice and allow staff who know far more about these things to make some of the decisions.
“This is really difficult for Meghan as she is not a natural delegator.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s representatives have been approached for comment.
