One of Meghan Markle’s close pals, actress Mindy Kaling, has given an insight into what the duchess is really like.

Meghan Markle’s Hollywood pal, Mindy Kaling, has gushed about the duchess and gave a five-word verdict on what she is really like behind closed doors.

The actress, 45, is set to appear in the Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix show, which airs on March 4.

With Love, Meghan will consist of eight episodes and will show the duchess sharing cooking, gardening, and hosting tips with the viewers in front of her friends.

One of the guests, Ms Kaling, recently gave an interview to TIME magazine and talked about her close pal.

She praised the duchess for taking her on her show and claimed that “she’s a very generous woman”.

Asked about how she came to appear on With Love, Meghan, Ms Kaling said: “I was on maternity leave with my daughter in March and April, and Meghan texted me that she was doing a show where she was going to cook for her friends.

“Would I want to come to Montecito and have her cook for me? I wanted to get taken care of in that moment of my life. That was a fun maternity leave field trip.

“And I left with a basket of fresh produce and homemade jam and hot sauce because she knew I loved hot sauce. She’s a very generous woman who knew I needed a break.”

The 45-year-old said she was involved in an episode with a theme of a children’s party and picked up on lots of tricks.

She revealed: “The theme was throwing a party for children. I love cooking, but I’m really not good at entertaining.

“For kids’ parties I usually just go to the party supply store and get paper things, which I don’t judge and neither does she. But it was fun to learn simple ways to do a homemade kids’ party.”

She added about Meghan: “I think a misconception about Meghan is that she’s in any way fussy or has expectations of fanciness.

“She really is a down-to-earth person who knows a lot of fun tricks to make entertaining and cooking easier.”
