The Lakers released Scotty eight days before their regular-season opener against the Denver Nuggets.

He was one of the three total cuts for Los Angeles along with guard Damion Baugh and small forward Vincent Valerio-Bodon.

Scotty played at Vanderbilt from 2019-22.

During his college tenure, he was named to two first-team All-SEC selections.

In the later selection, Scotty averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.

He went undrafted after the 2022 NBA Draft.

The Lakers would sign him to a two-way contract on July 1, 2022.

Scotty made six appearances with Los Angeles last season, averaging 2.3 points per game.

In 19 games with the Lakers G-League squad, the 22-year-old averaged 21.4 points per game.

On Sunday, Scotty received playing time against the Milwaukee Bucks in the Lakers preseason game.

He shot 2-of-9 from the field and 4-9 from the free-throw line.

Scotty finished with six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
