Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers Helmets.
NFL fans have expressed excitement, as well as disbelief, following news of a potential trade between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.

The Ravens, who just added significant firepower to their offense in the form of running back Derrick Henry, are reportedly keen on a move for wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

According to The Washington Post’s Jason La Canfora, the AFC side reached out to San Francisco with a trade inquiry into Samuel this week.

The news garnered some wild reactions on social media; you can see some here:

The Ravens Didn’t Receive A Favorable Answer

It doesn’t appear that there will be any trade as the Ravens were told  “a no, at least for now.”

Samuel, 28, has two years left on the three-year $71.55 million extension he signed with the Niners in 2022. He did request a trade in the 2022 offseason yet remained put as the team was able to work out a deal that was satisfactory to both parties.

The Niners have cap concerns at the moment, with Brandon Aiyuk, another wide receiver, heading into the last year of his rookie deal. It has been rumored that the team could trade one of their top offensive players in a bid to lessen the financial load.

Should they make Samuel available for trade, they’d have to secure a top-quality replacement as they would hurt their chances of returning to the Super Bowl otherwise.

In any case, they’ve told the Ravens they aren’t biting.
