Strictly Come Dancing fans were not happy with the results of the dance-off on Sunday night’s show as they took to social media to slam the ‘farce’ elimination.

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were up in arms, condemning Sunday night’s dance-off results as a complete travesty.

The suspense was sky-high this weekend as the much-anticipated Blackpool Week beckoned, prompting all the contestants to go all out to secure their place in the next stage.

Yet, after the public votes tallied, two couples found themselves facing off once more, in hopes of swaying the judges to their side.

Performing again for the judges’ approval were Wynne Evans with Katya Jones and Shayne Ward with Nancy Xu, who each reprised their American Smooth and Rumba routines, respectively.

But the judges’ panel was divided when it came to the final verdict.

While Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opted to save Shayne and Nancy, Anton Du Beke chose to save Wynne and Katya, leaving head judge Shirley Ballas with the deciding vote.

And as she also chose to save Wynne from elimination, Shayne and Nancy were subsequently sent packing.

Social media erupted with viewers voicing their dissatisfaction, particularly towards Shirley Ballas carrying the title of head judge, demanding an overhaul of the elimination process.

A dismayed viewer tweeted: “An absolute farce of a decision. The votes were even at 2-2 so why should Shirley’s vote be the deciding vote? If the votes are equal it should go to the public vote. Shayne was a far better dancer than Wynne. #strictly.”

Another agitated fan expressed disbelief: “wtf? seriously, shirley, it’s not about joyous, it’s about who did it better. #Strictly.”

And another disappointed critic suggested: “Urgh I hate that as head judge she decides. Should only be 3 judges then, or keep 4 and if it goes to deadlock like that, keep it as the public vote… whoever has the least votes goes. #strictly.”

Someone else echoed: “There really shouldn’t be a head judge, take it back to the public vote #strictly,” while another posted with certainty: “There is no need for a head judge (especially Shirley). Just go to the results of the public vote, lowest goes home… #strictly.”

The upcoming live show promises to be a thrill, and teasers for some of the songs and dances have already started making rounds. EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick will tap his feet to the rhythm of Las Ketchup’s hit ‘The Ketchup Song’.

On a more humorous note, Pete Wicks from Towie fame is gearing up for his Cha Cha Cha to the tune of ‘I’m Too Sexy For This Shirt’, a revelation that left him chuckling and burying his face in embarrassment.

The question remains though: who will steal the show in Blackpool, and for whom will it be the last dance?
