The world of Marvel comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is, in simple terms, a similar world, with the latter being based on the former. Although the majority of the MCU storylines are inspired or directly taken from the world of Marvel comics, Marvel comics are a huge universe with several parallel storylines based on the same character running simultaneously.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
And so, fans have mostly come to believe that Marvel Comics is the main influencing factor, a recent surprising revelation revealed that the MCU too is heavily inspiring the events of the comics. As per one Marvel writer, Kevin Feige apparently called the hit on Ms. Marvel in the Amazing Spider-Man comics to help the MCU storyline.
Kevin Feige Had Ms. Marvel Killed in Marvel Comics
Kamala Khan died in The Amazing Spider-Man comics
Marvel Studios and Marvel Comics, as per fans, often seem to operate differently with the world of comics being years ahead of the cinematic universe. Yet, there have been instances where Marvel Comics went on to adapt several MCU storylines or characters (such as Nick Fury or Valkyrie).

However, one of the major events that the MCU inspired in the comic storyline was when Kamala Khan was killed off in Amazing Spider-Man #26. Recently revealed by Marvel writer Cody Ziglar during the Amazing Spider-talk podcast, Ziglar disclosed how Kevin Feige had ordered the writer Zeb Wells to kill her off.
“It was funny watching when the whole Kamala stuff was going down… Feige was like, ‘Hey, I don’t do this very often but, can you please do this to make things in line with Marvel because we have some stuff we want to do with Kamala,’ so he (Wells) was like, ‘F***, I’m the guy that drew the short straw? People are going to be very mad that I have to kill Ms. Marvel.”

Although Marvel denied the claims (via Comics XF), the revelation is shocking since such a major decision to kill a fan-favorite character was sure enough to draw huge backlash, especially since fans had no idea that Ms. Marvel would later be resurrected as a mutant later on.

Fans did not like Ms. Marvel being killed off in The Amazing Spider-Man comics
Kevin Feige is also the Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, apart from being the Marvel Studios’ president. And when it comes to the creative decisions of Marvel Comics, Feige has a direct line of influence. Yet, fans have often believed that it is the comics that have majorly influenced the cinematic universe instead of the other way around.
However, the recent news of Feige influencing such a major decision is not something that fans took well. And so, this is how Marvel fans reacted on the internet-
This is stupid ,why tf comic following movie instead movie following comic

You still didn’t need to kill her

The movies doesn’t follow the comics, why should the comics adapt to make things in line with MCU? This is stupid

Marvel fans already hold resentment for the MCU not following the Marvel Comics faithfully, and such a decision was sure to irk them. Just for wanting to create a storyline that could be later loosely adapted into the MCU and used to bring the X-Men into the franchise, fans have criticized this decision by Feige.
While the relationship between Marvel Comics and the MCU is a complex one, the recent events of the Amazing Spider-Man comics have stirred up a lot of emotions among fans. Yet, it is important to remember that ultimately things have worked out.
