Houston Texans cornerback Kris Boyd has been getting blasted ever since his actions this past Saturday.
There were fireworks early in the Texans playoff matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead.
Houston won the toss and decided to kick off to Kansas City. It turned out to be a bad idea as Nikko Remigio took that opening kickoff down to the Houston 35-yard line.
Kris Boyd made the tackle on Remigio, forcing a fumble. The Chiefs would recover, and things only got worse for Houston.
After the play, Boyd threw his helmet off the field, which resulted in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
When Kris Boyd got to the sideline, he was then seen shoving his special teams coach, Frank Ross.
Since then, Boyd has been getting non-stop hate on social media.
Over the weekend, he decided to show the types of messages that he has been receiving from fans.
One fan sent Kris Boyd a message that said, “Stupid a– ni–er.”
Boyd wrote on the message that the world “wicked” while adding, “I’ll be the example to still shine love and light no matter the circumstances.”
Texans’ Kris Boyd Apologized For His Actions
Tensions rose on the Houston Texans’ sideline during the team’s Divisional playoff clash with the Kansas City Chiefs.
It started just seconds into the game as Texans cornerback Kris Boyd was seen shoving special teams coach Frank Ross right after refs gave him an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for taking his helmet off while on the field.
After the game, Boyd explained the altercation while stating he apologized to Ross for his actions.
“I got the ball out. And as I’m getting up, I look at the screen, I see nothing but white, and they’re all pointing [the Texans’] way,” Boyd said. “So I was like, oh yeah, we got the ball too. Turn over, and I was just turnt.”
He added: “I love everybody here. I love my coaches. I never disrespect anybody,” Boyd said. “I apologized to everybody. [Ross] told me, ‘Don’t worry about that.’”
