Prince William’s longstanding commitment to the Tusk Trust is set to influence his family’s future travels. The Prince of Wales, who has supported the Tusk Trust since 2005, is reportedly keen to introduce his children to Africa in the near future.
The Tusk Trust, a leading organization in wildlife conservation across Africa, recently held its Footprint of Life Gala in Bridgehampton. The event, hosted by Amy and Gary Green, featured performances by Ludacris and the London Electronic Orchestra, and raised significant funds to support wildlife rangers and environmental education programs.
Charlie Mayhew, CEO of Tusk Trust, shared exclusively with PEOPLE that the funds will aid in the protection of African wildlife and support the charity’s education program, which reaches around 500,000 children annually.
Mayhew highlighted Prince William’s deep connection with Africa, which began with a trip to Kenya during his teenage years. William’s commitment to conservation was further solidified by his proposal to Kate Middleton in Kenya in 2010.
William’s planned visit to Cape Town for the Earthshot Prize Awards in November will also include his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as part of his ongoing efforts to share his passion for Africa with his family.
“His love for Africa is profound,” Mayhew noted. “I believe it won’t be long before he introduces his children to the continent, aligning with his strong conservation values and family heritage.”
