Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace are abuzz with excitement as they prepare to welcome American pop superstar Taylor Swift. Swift, who recently kicked off the London leg of her Eras Tour at a sold-out Wembley Stadium, is expected to meet with Kate Middleton during her stay in the UK. Despite being unable to attend the concert due to her ongoing chemotherapy, Princess Kate has sent her best wishes to Swift, expressing gratitude for the memorable moments shared by the children.
Taylor Swift’s first show in London was a roaring success, attended by numerous celebrities, including British royal Prince William and his children. The presence of the royals at the concert has fueled speculations that Swift may visit the royal palaces during her stay, given her history with them. In 2013, Swift shared the stage with Jon Bon Jovi at Kensington Palace for a charity event, performing “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
Last year, Swift personally invited Kate and William to attend her concert. However, Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis prevented her from attending. A royal insider now claims, “Preparations at the Palace indicate that Swift could visit the royals on the invitation of William, as they have continued to be committed fans of the US megastar.”
To celebrate Swift’s arrival in London, the military band at Buckingham Palace performed a rendition of her 2014 hit “Shake It Off,” marking the significance of the Eras Tour arriving in the UK capital.
William, who attended Swift’s Friday show with his children, was seen dancing enthusiastically to her hits. Swift later shared a selfie with the future King and his kids after the show, further sparking rumors about her possible visit to Princess Kate, who missed the live concert due to her treatment.
Swift, who is currently in London, will perform two more gigs in the city on Saturday and Sunday before returning for an additional five performances in August. There is speculation that she might take this opportunity to visit the historic royal buildings with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who is also in the UK.
Princess Kate’s heartfelt message to Taylor Swift underscores the connection between the royal family and the pop superstar, highlighting the joy and memorable experiences Swift’s music has brought to the royal children.
