TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise has opened up about the real reason her relationship with Dan Edgar faded the first time around, as rumours swirl that they’ve rekindled their romance.

The pair got together during the heady TOWIE cast trip to Bali earlier this year, but were forced apart upon their return, by the salacious gossip mill in Essex.

Friends of Dan’s ex-girlfriend of six years Amber Turner, with whom he split last May, were hardly in favour of the union.

Amber’s friends, including Chloe Green, area dubbed ‘girlband’ by Ella, 23, for their glamorous appearance and spikey remarks.

Now, speaking exclusively to The Sun, Ella Rae said that their budding relationship was poisoned by all the background noise.

She said: “When we got home from Bali and when we’d finished filming, I’d still see him and we were pretty close.”

But it did get to the part where communication was lost massively and we were playing things down so much and not actually being 100 per cent truthful with our feelings.”

And Ella Rae’s close friend Freddie Bentley who was also in the interview added: “You were both being protective of your hearts.”

To which Ella replied: “Yeah because we’ve both been burned.I feel like we’re both each other’ worst nightmares.”

Indeed as the next instalment of TOWIE is currently being filmed in sunny Cyprus, Ella has hinted that their magnetic chemistry may soon to be revived.

When asked whether she’d like a relationship with Dan, she said:

“We never know what’s going to happen at the end of Cyprus and we never know what’s going to happen at the end of series 34 either, so make sure you watch and then you’ll know.”

Last season of TOWIE revolved around the love triangle between Dan, Ella Rae and Amber.

The romance which blossomed in Bali, had closely followed Dan’s painful and messy split from Amber who was also on the trip.

Shortly after the Amber split, Dan enjoyed a – month tryst with Hannah Rally. They were spotted together just weeks after splitting rom Amber in 2023.

But before heading out to Bali, Dan told Hannah that he wasn’t looking to settle down, but then he got close to Ella in Dubai.

A source told The Sun:

“Things were going really well and he even told her he loved her – but he said he wasn’t ready for anything serious.

“Next thing he is in Bali for TOWIE filming and is getting with Ella.

“Hannah was obviously really shocked, but she just didn’t want the drama to decide to wash her hands of him.

“But they ended up getting together again when Ella was out of town in Dubai.”

Upon her return to the UK, Ella found out that Dan had been seeing Hannah and was left fuming.

Our insider continued: “Ella ended up finding out what happened between Dan and Hannah and was furious.

But now that sparks are flying between Dan and Ella once again in sun-soaked Cyprus, TOWIE fans had better fasten their seatbelts for a bumpy new season.
