Prayers up for Andy Dalton.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback and his family were involved in a vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Dalton was in the vehicle with his wife, three children, and dog.

Schefter added that everybody seemed to be fine as no one required transportation from emergency medical personnel.

Reports further added that Andy Dalton is currently being evaluated by the team’s medical personnel.

The Panthers will continue to provide updates when they have them.

The 36-year-old has started the last five games for the Panthers after former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young was benched.

Since then, Dalton has led the Panthers to the first win of their season over the Las Vegas Raiders and is 1-4 overall.

Andy Dalton has thrown for 989 yards, seven touchdowns, and six interceptions, per his stats on ESPN.

A three-time Pro Bowler in Cincinnati, Dalton has also played for the Cowboys, Bears, and Saints over his 14-year career.

What Does Andy Dalton Being Benched Mean For His Status Going Forward?

The Panthers’ quarterback situation has been a roller coaster, and it continued when starter Andy Dalton was benched late in the fourth quarter for Bryce Young, with Carolina down over 30 points to Washington.

Dalton was benched for Young with just over 11 minutes to go in regulation in the 40-7 defeat.

Coach Dave Canales reiterated in his post-game press conference that Dalton will still start Week 8 at Denver, so the “benching” was simply because of how out of control the game had gotten.

Andy Dalton completed 11-of-16 passes for 93 yards with two interceptions on Sunday.
