There are plenty of talks going around that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid could retire after Super Bowl 58, but one prominent NFL writer suggests it won’t be the case.

The 65-year-old Reid has coached the Chiefs to a fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years, having led the defending champions to a 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.

 

Win or lose against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, will Reid decide to call it quits and ride off into the sunset?

In the latest edition of his “Football Morning in America” column, NBC Sports’ Peter King wrote, “never say never, but I don’t think Reid will retire.”

With two Super Bowl championship rings (so far) and 258 career wins, Reid’s spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame is all but assured. He has nothing else to prove as a head coach, but Reid of course could find it difficult to step away from the ideal situation in Kansas City.

With Mahomes, Reid has reached six straight AFC Championship Games and now four Super Bowls. He could walk away after the season, but why do so when he has limitless opportunities to win even more championship rings with the game’s best player?
