Pete Carroll still wants to coach at the highest level following the Seahawks’ decision to relieve him of his duties earlier this month.

While Carroll is out as HC, the team plans on keeping him in an advisory role. But it appears that might not be enough for the Super Bowl winner as he is intent on coaching again.

According to a report from ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, Carroll is “making a push” to become the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, although the team is keen on hiring Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, with former Tennessee Titans HC Mike Vrabel also a top candidate.

“We heard earlier today that Pete Carroll is making a push for the job. Mike Vrabel is also in the mix,” Florio shared to X on Tuesday.

Florio isn’t the first person who has linked Carroll to the Chargers. Rapper Snoop Dogg, who is a close friend of Carroll’s, recently claimed that the veteran coach has had his eyes set on the vacancy in L.A. since he was taken off the top in Seattle.

“He wanted to go to the Chargers,” Snoop said to FOX Sports. “That’s what he wanted. But I don’t know if they want him.”

Carroll has some coaching experience in L.A., though not in the pros. He was the USC head coach from 2001 to 2009, where he boasted an 83-18 record, also leading the Trojans to two National Championships and five Pac-10 titles.
