The New York Jets reportedly disrespected and embarrassed Robert Saleh after firing him this week.

The former Jets head coach was terminated on Tuesday morning following the team’s 2-3 start to the season, having also failed to put a winning campaign together after three tries.

Saleh, who claimed to be “blindsided” by the decision, learned his fate after owner Woody Johnson showed up in his office around 10:00 a.m. and, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, had him escorted out of the building.

Florio also noted that the coach Saleh replaced, Adam Gasse, wasn’t treated the same way, while as far as he remembers, only one other NFL head coach has received such treatment.

“Per multiple sources, Jets coach Robert Saleh was escorted out of the building by the team’s director of security, after Saleh got the news,” the reporter wrote.

“That didn’t happen, we’re told, when the Jets fired Saleh’s predecessor, Adam Gase.

“It’s not unprecedented, but it’s unusual. The Browns did it to G.M. George Kokinis in 2009. If there have been others in the past 15 years, I’m not currently remembering who and when they were.”

Robert Saleh Will Make Lots Of Money For Doing Nothing

Robert Saleh will rue losing his job and being escorted out of the Jets’ facilities, but he won’t have to worry about money for a while as he’s still contracted to the team for the next two years.

It’s been pointed out that the coach will be paid $20,000 a day – yes, a day – for doing absolutely nothing over that span.

Should leave him feeling a whole lot better about the situation.
