Sir Tom Jones had fans absolutely gob-smacked at his appearance on The Voice last night as her performed a duet with LeAnn Rimes.

The singer, 84, left viewers in awe as he sang a version of The Everly Brothers’s Let It Be Me with new judge LeAnn, 42.

‘I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. Tom Jones has the most consistently incredible voice ever. Even at 84, the power and tone remains as strong as it ever was. Truly a phenomenon,’ said @guitarsandvinyl.

Lord Alan Sugar even took to social media to say how impressed he was at the It’s Not Unusual hitmaker’s voice.

‘Sir Tom Jones at 84 still has a great voice. Quite amazing,’ he said, while X user @F1Loopy wrote: ‘Tom Jones still got it #TheVoiceUK what a voice even at the age of 84 WOW!!’

@_SmileyRose1 added: ‘I’m watching #TheVoice Tom Jones looks great for his age.’

Meanwhile surprise contestant Storry – who was previously a support act for Sir Tom – appeared on the ITV singing competition and brought a mash-up of classical and pop music in an original song to the stage.

The performance made such an impact that all of the coaches – Sir Tom, LeAnn Rimes, Will.i.am, and duo coach Tom Fletcher/Danny Jones – turned their red chairs around to indicate that they wanted her in their team.

While deliberating on who to choose, Storry revealed that she had a connection to Sir Tom as she’d previously supported him at a gig, but never got the chance to meet him.

After the Welsh legend called her singing ‘fantastic,’ she responded: ‘It’s a dream to meet you by the way Tom because in August, I actually opened for you and I didn’t get to meet you. I’m so happy that you turned. I was like “Please let Tom turn”.’

Trying to recall the reasoning for their missed opportunity to meet, Sir Tom asked Storry if he was late to arrive.

‘You pulled up in your car, all smooth, but I get it. You know it was a cold night, that night,’ she explained.

Sir Tom sweetly said he was glad that he’d finally heard Storry sing – a sentiment she agreed with. ‘I’m sorry that I missed you when we worked together,’ he added.

Storry eventually selected Will.i.am, 49, and Sir Tom joked that she was still ‘ticked off’ about their past.

The Voice’s official Instagram page shared a clip of the exchange, and titled it: ‘This singer has a bone to pick with Sir Tom Jones.’

A handful of viewers criticised Sir Tom for not being able to meet her previously.

‘Poor show Tom, not meeting your supporting artists 😢,’ wrote Pamela Crosbie.

Liam wrote on X: ‘Made me look at him in a very different light that. Would have taken 10 seconds to meet the openers before him.’

However, dogsitter Storry defended the Welsh crooner and completely understood his decision.

‘Noooo I love @realsirtomjones he’s a wonderful human. He had a 2 hour show to perform in the cold – I don’t blame him for now coming early. ❤️ just glad I got to meet him finally 🙌 and that he turneddddd 🔥,’ she wrote on Instagram.

Before her audition, Storry, who is originally from Toronto but lives in London, opened up about her tough history.

She alleged that the first person she worked with on music ‘groomed’ her.

‘He was grooming me and he coerced me. I was severely abused by this person. He would tell me things like I wasn’t a good singer or good songwriter.

‘He would have me recording songs one word at a time,’ she said.
